The company has operated since 1930. It owns seven fishing vessels and one transport vessel, all retrofitted for onboard processing. Facilities include a 2,500-ton freezer, a 160-meter pier, ship and net repair workshops, a finished product workshop, and a coastal training center. As a city-forming enterprise, it employs about 350 people. Only 70 fishing collectives remain in Russia (down from 500 in the USSR), but JSC "RK Primorets" not only survived but thrives in the market economy. It engages in coastal fish and seafood processing, mariculture, and industrial fishing, harvesting ~15,000 tons annually. Products are popular domestically and internationally.
